John Romita Jr was born into comic-books. His father made his name as a comics artist on a number of Spider-Man’s most celebrated Silver Age adventures. Jr got his break in 1977, with a six-page story in Amazing Spider-Man Annual No. 11. In the last three decades his career has gone from strength to strength, and Romita Jr has become one of the most celebrated comic-book artists of all time.
In 2008, he collaborated with Mark Millar on hit underground superhero Kick-Ass, providing a series of iconic cover illustrations.

As Matthew Vaughn’s film adaptation of Millar’s comics prepares to hit the big screen on April 2, TCOLondon’s movie magazine Little White Lies is bringing the character full circle, commissioning Romita Jr to provide a bespoke illustrated cover of Aaron Johnson’s film incarnation of Kick-Ass.
LWLies is renowned for its unique covers – illustrated portraits that capture the spirit of the issue and are pieces of art in their own right. Past illustrators have included world famous graphic designer Geoff McFetridge and artist Paul Willoughby.
