Eight first-year students from the Department of Communication Design at Glasgow School of Art came to visit the LWLies team at TCOLondon last week to get the lowdown on the production process and pick up some tips.
LWLies editor Matt Bochenski, Deputy Editor Adam Woodward and Creative Director Paul Willoughby spent a couple of hours with the students and hopefully inspired some future print-heads to go forth and make some beautiful mags.
Some kind words from lecturer Michael Dancer: “You gave us a unique insight into the ‘architecture’ of LWLies covering every aspect of its production. For students in the first year of a four-year progression, this was invaluable… As the students are going into a typography project this week, it was useful to see how you constructed your typefaces, the programmes used and where the inspiration comes from… The students enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of your studio, it had a lovely ‘bohemian’ feel.”
