Following on from hugely popular projects to design a bespoke Where The Wild Things Are cover, and to review The Road as a literary adaptation, TCOLondon movie magazine LWLies has launched its latest Creative Brief.
The Briefs are designed to engage a creative community beyond the magazine’s core film audience, widening its visibility and broadening its appeal in new areas and new disciplines.
Issue 28, inspired by Matthew Vaughn’s adaptation of Mark Millar’s boldly subversive, independent comic-book title Kick-Ass, is reaching out into the underground comics community with a brief to recreate a favourite film as a six-panel comic-book.
Aspiring artists can download a template from the LWLies website, but beyond the fixed six-panel format, entrants are encouraged to get creative, interpreting the brief anyway they choose as long as the final product is a coherent reflection of their favourite film.
The entries will be judged by an expert team assembled by LWLies. The winner will be given a full page in the print edition of the magazine, while the best runners-up will be the subject of a 16-page special digital edition, available to view for free on the LWLies website.
