The cover film of LWLies #29 will be Francis Ford Coppola’s Tetro, which opens in the UK on Friday June 25.

Shot in black-and-white, it stars Vincent Gallo as a writer who struggles to tell the story of his life. It is a film about the power of image and the struggle to define oneself.

Inspired by the themes of memory, image, perspective and self-representation at play in the film, our fourth Creative Brief will engage the photographic community.

Just as our own memories exist as images in the mind’s eyes, our cultural memory is created by photographers whose role is to explore and interpret the world around us, capturing it in frozen moments of time.

From their singular perspective comes our collective story, but who are the people behind the lens?

Our brief is for photographers to step out from behind the camera and show us who they think they are. Their task is to create a photographic self-portrait in black-and-white, using image and perspective to tell us the story of themselves.

For full details on how to submit your entry, see the Creative Brief blog post on the LWLies site.
