Born in 1968, Los Angeles native Mark Gonzales has been a transgressive force within the wider culture that spawned from skateboarding. In 2008 he appeared alongside fellow artists Ed Templeton, Thomas Campbell and Barry McGee in Aaron Rose’s genre-defining documentary Beautiful Losers – a film that gave context and meaning to the wave of contemporary art and street culture that has emerged from skateboarding’s DIY roots.
Huck magazine has teamed up with Mark Gonzales for a special 24-hour pop-up art show on Saturday 10th November: One Week, One Show. All the work featured - from customised postcards to large-scale drawings - was created by The Gonz over the course of the past week, during an impromptu visit to London.
