Dainese marked their 40th anniversary in 2012, and approached The Church Of London for creative ideas on how to celebrate this. We suggested a series of four mini digital magazines released bi-monthly throughout the year with each one, in part, paying tribute to one of Dainese's respective decades. And in order to keep the magazine relevant in the present day, we also featured interviews with Dainese's current team.

First-class illustration is a key part of this project and, in this issue, we commissioned the creative talent of Magnus Voll Mathiassen who reimagined MotoGP superstar Valentino Rossi for the cover.
We also recruited Chris Silas Neal to create an illustrative montage to the decade's cultural icons, and Robert M. Ball has once again produced his angular portraits in the magazines' Inspirational Icons feature series.

We also instructed specialist motorcycle journalist Zachary Drake to pay tribute to the late racer Marco Simoncelli and commissioned talented sports writer Ollie Pelling to track down downhill mountain biker Adrienne Schneider – as well as sending Californian documentary photographer Ariel Zambelich to shoot her in her element.
